Accessibility policy

We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

This website endeavours to conform to level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (guidelines which explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities). Conformity with these guidelines – particularly regarding font, font sizes and use of colour – will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

All font sizes are relative, with the exception of graphical text, and text size can be increased or decreased by following these steps:

  • For Microsoft Internet Explorer: Use the Zoom options in Tools in the browser.
  • For Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox: Use the Zoom options in the browser menu
  • For Apple Safari: Use the Safari > Preferences > Appearance options in the browser menu
  • For Google Chrome: Use Customise and control Google Chrome > Options > Under the hood > Font Size options in the browser window

All images and media have descriptive alternative text, with the exception of images that are used for aesthetic reasons only.

Whilst Barts Charity strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. Should you experience any difficulty in accessing our website, please don’t hesitate to contact us at hello@bartscharity.org.uk.
