Remembering Dad at “Pension Gig”

21 Apr 2016

In memory of his father, Brad (pictured right) organised a unique fundraiser to honour him – getting all his bands together for a night of live music.

Brad was raising funds for Rahere Ward at St Bartholomew’s, where his Dad passed away in June 2015.

It was Brad's 60th birthday bash, called “The Pension Gig”, and he got all the bands he’s played in together for the night. Around 120 friends and family attended, making it a memorable night and a fun way to honour his father.

Brad said: “Dad was always supportive of the bands I played with and bought my first bass guitar and amp when I was 14. Until he became too ill he would come to our gigs. He was incredibly well looked after at Barts Hospital during his final week.”

Brad raised over £500 from the evening, all of which will go directly to help patients on Rahere Ward.

Speaking about the event, he added: “It was a fantastically memorable night!”

A big well done to Brad for an amazing total in honour of his Dad - which will make a real difference to patients on the ward at Barts.
