Launch of our Transform Trauma appeal – and aim to raise £1m

16 Jul 2017

We’ve teamed up with rapper Professor Green to launch our new appeal, aiming to raise £1m to save lives and improve recoveries for critically-injured trauma patients.

Trauma kills 46 people a day in the UK. It’s the biggest cause of death and disability in young people – and a leading killer of all age groups.

Now, we’re fighting back.

With your support, we’re aiming to raise £1 million to fund vital trauma research that will save lives and improve recoveries for the trauma patients of tomorrow.

Trauma is physical injury to the body, commonly resulting from road accidents, violence, falls. The devastation of trauma is also evident on a big scale in terrorist acts such as those we’ve seen recently in London and Manchester.

Professor Green is lending his support to our appeal, and will be headlining our Transform Trauma fundraising gig in September.

He’s a trauma survivor, having been stabbed in 2009 and hit by a car four years later:

“I’m a trauma survivor, but I had no idea about the scale of the problem.

"This appeal is about funding research to help doctors be able to treat people as effectively as possible within the first few minutes of injury and through their time in hospital to give them the best chance of recovery."

Now, we need you to help us hit the target and transform lives for severely injured trauma patients. Here are some actions you can take right now:
