Fundraising from home

We know that right now everyone is spending a lot more time at home. So why not use some of this time to fundraise and support staff who are working on the frontline of the COVID-19 outbreak? We’ve listed a few ideas below to get you started.

Shave your head

Barts Charity supporter Aruna shaved her head and raised a whopping £1,500! To follow in her footsteps all you need to do is choose a date, get your friends and family to sponsor you and get the camera ready!

Host a virtual quiz

A quiz is a great way to get people together and raise some money. Use Houseparty or Zoom and get your friends, family, colleagues or neighbours to have a battle of the brains. Set up a JustGiving page and ask anyone who takes part to donate £5 to our COVID-19 appeal.

Sponsored run

Getting some daily exercise is especially important at the moment, so create a JustGiving page and ask everyone you know to sponsor you! Whether you do it at home on a treadmill, or run outside (while following government advice!), every mile you run is supporting staff on the frontline. You can even link your fitness activities from Strava to your JustGiving page.

Birthday fundraiser

If your birthday is around the corner then set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook and ask people to make a donation instead of buying you a present or a drink in the pub.

Our COVID-19 Emergency Appeal is helping us provide urgent funds for staff who are working tirelessly across Barts Health NHS Trust. Donations are being used in many ways across our hospitals - from 3D-printed visors to protect front line staff, to iPads for isolated patients to speak with their loved ones.
