Send a Smile with Santa is back, and we need your help to make Christmas magical for the children and older patients spending the festive season in hospital.

There are two ways you can help:

  1. Buy a present for a patient in hospital
  2. Donate to support the Children’s Play Team and Older People’s Services

Presents are hugely important – for children, it’s about keeping the magic alive when they’re in difficult circumstances in an unfamiliar environment. And buying a gift for an older patient can let them know someone is thinking of them, particularly for those who may have fewer people to visit them.

By donating money, you’ll be helping hospital staff buy what’s most needed on the wards, whether it’s new equipment or the smaller things like comfort packs for older patients that include toiletries, an eye mask, and books.

Victoria Noble, our Events and Campaigns Officer, said: “This year we want to make Send a Smile with Santa bigger and better than ever. We rely on the support of our local community to ensure no patient is left out at Christmas.

“Buying a present for someone in hospital is a lovely way to spread a bit of joy, while donating money will be a lasting gift to support patients and hospital staff both at Christmas and into 2018.”

Please get involved and help this year to be the most magical Christmas yet!
