Supporting The Royal London Hospital

22 Mar 2020

Today we launch a new campaign in support of the fantastic staff at The Royal London Hospital. Now on the front line in the fight against COVID-19, they need our support more than ever.

Donate to our emergency COVID-19 appeal.

World-leading care

The Royal London is a leading, internationally renowned hospital which houses one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK and one of the world’s busiest trauma centres. We’re proud to support the hospital’s staff with funding for thousands of initiatives, including:

  • Our £3m for trauma care and research has helped the team reduce the number of patients bleeding to death after major trauma by 40%
  • New technology in the Adult Critical Care Unit allows patients to communicate using their eyes when they're unable to speak or move
  • Ventilators on the Paediatric Critical Care Unit help poorly babies breathe when their lungs aren’t strong enough

Saying thank you to staff

Across Barts Health NHS Trust, Barts Charity have launched a new focus on fundraising which celebrates staff in our five hospitals. This week, attention will be turned to The Royal London Hospital, where we have installed huge posters featuring hospital staff and will be showcasing the amazing work they do across our social media.

We hope this will inspire more grateful patients and their families to make donations, which will help staff continue to give exceptional care.

On the front line of COVID-19

Staff at The Royal London Hospital, along with the rest of the Trust, are facing the challenge of coronavirus (COVID-19) head on. Barts Charity is committed to doing everything we can to help our amazing NHS staff and with your support, we can provide emergency funds to help staff cope during this difficult time. Please help us help them by making a donation to our emergency COVID-19 appeal.

A message from the hospital’s Chief Exec

The Chief Executive at The Royal London Hospital, Jackie Sullivan says: “I would like to say how proud I am of all our Royal London Hospital staff who, in the face of unprecedented events, have continually provided the best care possible to all our patients.

“This week, Barts Charity will be adding their own mark of appreciation, bringing an extra touch of brightness and positivity to the Royal London.

“Barts Charity are a fantastic support to The Royal London Hospital and we’re grateful that this week they will be fundraising to provide care, support and well-being for staff, including those working tirelessly in our fight against COVID-19. Please do what you can to help them help us.”
