Care from The Royal London Hospital

After their son Alfie was born with severe respiratory distress and dangerously high infection levels he was transferred from Southend Hospital for post-natal treatment at The Royal London Hospital.

Molly and Brad spent countless days and nights in the hospital witnessing firsthand the dedication and compassion of the staff to caring for newborn, Alfie.

“Our lives were thrown into turmoil. However, it was the extraordinary care and expertise of the Neonatal team at The Royal London Hospital that guided us through this challenging time,”
shared Brad.

Molly and I were deeply moved by the exceptional care our son Alfie received at the Neonatal Unit at  The Royal London Hospital. His journey, from Southend Hospital to the care of the dedicated team at Royal London, highlighted to us the critical importance of the work they do.

Witnessing the unwavering dedication of the consultants and nurses and experiencing the profound impact they had on our lives, inspired us to give back in any way we could, said Brad.

A wedding fundraiser

To show their gratitude for the hospital staff, the couple decided to ask for donations instead of gifts on their wedding day.

“We wanted our wedding day to be more than just a celebration of our love; we wanted it to be an opportunity to express our immense gratitude and support for the hospital that saved our son's life. We will forever be grateful to them for the gift of our son's life, and our fundraising efforts are a small token of our appreciation for all they do.”

Upon sharing their decision with friends and family, they received immense support. Many of their loved ones even shared their own experiences and connections to the NHS which further reinforced their belief in the power of collective giving and support.

Thank you to NHS Staff
